Is it harder to play guitar or bass while singing?

I'm writing a character that ends up singing lead vocals in a band. To
flesh out their personality, I decided to have them play an instrument
too, but I don't want them to be ridiculously skilled, so I'll
probably them to play whatever's easier to manage. Also, if anyone
knows how playing piano compares? Just for more information.
